Powder Pink

There are two colours I tend to shy away from and thats pink and yellow. I feel like a huge part of being confident and "winning in style" as I would call it is knowing what works for you and what doesn't. Nevertheless, that does not mean you cant take a leap of faith and try something new once in a while.

Obsessions

  

I've got to admit that comfort plays a huge role when it comes to my style. That explains my love for oversized tops and tights. As much as flaunting curves seems to be the in thing right now, I still value my oversized, leave something to the imagination kinda looks.  I have a soft spot for simple-chic looks and that is exactly what I had in mind when I saw this sweater top. Plus it had a turtle neck which is one of my major obsessions. The booties just added some oomf to the outfit but it would also be cute with a pair of black sandals :)

Feeling Blue

Over the years I've really struggled with stress eating (Just eating in general). I always envied the people that wake up every morning and go to the gym, eat salads, count calories,.... the list goes on and on and on. Then there's me,  I rarely go to the gym (unless there's a vacation coming up or a big event), I love salads but when I'm hungry that's the last thing I want on my plate, and calories... what are those??

I know there's people that will look at me and wonder what I'm talking about. Well, I think being healthy is really important and when I don't eat clean I'm constantly complaining of being tired and I barely accomplish what I plan to do in a day/week/month. As I strive to be great in every aspect of my life, I'm constantly evaluating myself and I get frustrated when I see pizza and I cant say no. Also as the Bible says, my body is the temple of the Lord and I feel guilty when I don't take care of it. Hopefully I'll be able to form better habits and have some freaking self control.

If you're an African living abroad I'm sure you've had to explain at least once that Africa is a continent that has different countries with different languages and different cultures. I actually don't take offense when people ask me this question because I personally don't know everything about every single continent or country in the world. Recently as I was online reading random stuff I happened to see a post on   Style Yetu about an amazing Congolese Designer's new line and the title just got me thinking. There is so much undiscovered talent in Africa, as we keep growing and as much as we would like the world to recognize us, its important to support our own. They say 'Charity begins at home" and I believe it.

 Back to the post, when it comes to African prints I'm usually very cautious on how I style them because most of the times the boldness of the print speaks for itself. With this look I wanted the skirt to stand out, that's why I went with a black top and shoes.

Love at first sight

Have you ever walked into a store and bought the first thing that caught your eye? Well that's what happened to me with this cute midi sweater dress. It's like we were meant to be, especially since I dint buy anything else that day. I literally just walked into the store, saw the dress, bought it and went back home. I dint even try it, well, I never really try anything unless its for a huge event and it has to fit perfectly. Otherwise I usually can tell what will fit me just by looking at it.With the temperatures dropping, this is the perfect dress for a Sunday evening. Its high time we started bringing all the cozy stuff out to play :)

Stay/ Slay Casual

You know one of those days when you see some rain and get excited and as soon as you get dressed and step out you get blinded by the scorching sun? That's what happened to me this weekend and I couldn't be bothered to go back and change.

 ION : I just Love shoes that have some character , that way when I throw on something casual I still look like I put in some work LOL. Thats why I fell in love with these fringed boots. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a minimalist but in a dramatic kinda way (if I do say so myself):)

Strut

Let it Fray

I am lowkey, okay maybe high key obssessed with monotone outfits. I believe you can never go wrong with a simple monotone look. However, they say "too much of anything is poisonous" and that also applies to putting together an outfit.That's why I decided to accesorize with with the brown purse and shoes.
